Synopsis
This project explores how digital signal processing can become a tool for vocal self-study. It detects vocal pitch in real time, compares it against the notes of the current chord and provides visual feedback to help the singer understand when and how their intonation moves away from the target. Pitch correction is available as an experimental aid, but the goal is never to replace the singer—it is to help them hear, understand and improve their own voice.

Understanding Your Own Voice
The project started with a simple question: could software help a singer understand their own intonation? I used Claude as a research partner to study digital signal processing, pitch detection and frequency analysis, using technical tutorials and existing audio tools as references. I also investigated how professional tools such as Auto-Tune detect vocal pitch. The goal was not to build a replacement for the singer, but to understand the technology well enough to turn it into a learning instrument.
